IB Potluck Dinner



The first IB Potluck Dinner was a great success and a lot of fun! IB parents, students, staff, and teachers had a wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle while enjoying foods from around the world.

The IB Parent Group is hoping to offer another social event before the end of the calendar year. Keep checking back for more news!

Project 2400 Parent Meeting


PROJECT 2400 PARENT MEETING
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22 at 6:30pm
CAMPBELL HS MEDIA CENTER


CHS is participating in PROJECT 2400, which provides free SAT preparation by the Princeton Review to high school Juniors. The SAT course consists of 24 hours of instruction and 3 full-length diagnostic tests.

INTERESTED FAMILIES MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM.
The CHS class will meet on Tuesday afternoons and some Saturday mornings.

IB Parent Group Social/Potluck Dinner

Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Where: Campbell High School Cafeteria


Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite international dish. Please RSVP to Yolanda Jones with the following information:

1. Number of guests in your party
2. Name of the dish that you will be bringing and its country of origin

Here is the recommendation for the food items:

9th grade - Appetizers, Drinks
10th grade - Salad, Bread
11th grade - Main Course/Entree
12th grade - Dessert
NOTE: If you have multiple students in different grades, choose any ONE grade group.

College Planning Workshop

123College.com, inc. is having two College Planning Workshops at Campbell High in November. These workshops - which are free - will enhance your knowledge about college aid planning. Topics include: "How to maximize your student's financial aid eligibility" and "How to increase your student's SAT and ACT scores."

Campbell's Online Calendar

Campbell now has an online calendar! It is really 5 calendars, and the amount of information on these calendars is amazing!

Campbell's activities are divided into these 5 calendars:

Athletic Calendar - practices and events for our athletic teams

Facility Use - events impacting our facilities, such as meetings and practices

Fundraiser Calendar - fundraising events - did you know that the volleyball team will be selling cookie dough next week?

Media Center - meetings and classes in the media center

School Calendar - major events in the life of our school - such as the IB Senior/Junior Parent Meeting on August 27!

Nicely Press Box Dedication

The Dedication Ceremony and Reception for the Alan R. Nicely Press Box at McDaniel Stadium will be on Friday, September 11, 2009. The reception will be held in the cafeteria from 5:30-6:55 pm. The dedication will take place on the football field at 7:10 pm. Admission to the CHS vs. Walton game will be free for alumni and a guest if a RSVP is received by Sept. 4 to nicelydedication@gmail.com. Following the game, there will be a casual gathering to continue the celebration and visit with old friends at Howard’s Deli on Concord Road.

IB Meeting

On Thursday, August 27, at 5:30 p.m., there will be an IB meeting in the auditorium for juniors, seniors, and their parents. Freshmen and sophomores are also welcome. This meeting precedes the PTSA meeting, which starts at 6:30. Dr. Romanchuk and Mr. Jones will be giving invaluable information about the college application and admissions process.

You will also hear some exciting news about an IB Parent Group that is forming. There will be a table set up outside the auditorium with information and contact forms for parents to complete.

Open House - PTSA Meeting

Campbell's Open House and Spartan PTSA meeting will be held on August 27, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Come meet your new PTSA, hear from our new principal, and visit your teachers! Lots of great things are going on at Campbell; come hear what they are!

There will also be a meeting for IB juniors and seniors preceding the Open House. More information about that meeting will be posted here.

Open House

The CHS IB Program Open House for prospective applicants will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 7 p.m. The program will begin in the Livingston Auditorium and will include opportunities to meet members of the IB faculty and current IB students while learning more about this challenging and rewarding course of study.
